Rinko~
Yo'~ This is a little thing I thought might give me some extra room for my abouts on various places, y'know~?Though you prooobably already know at least half of this, I'm a young girl who loves anime, writing and drawing and is the self-proclaimed Procrastination Princess (borrowing from an old username of mine) and Music Anime Ambassador....Hey that could make for some kinda good Chuunibyou lore.
The princess of the nation of music, a small land where even royalty and nobility must take on more duties than may be expected. As such, the princess became the ambassador to her nation....Anyway. There are more tabs so check them out~!
Favourite types of shows/characters
When it comes to the few non-anime/manga pieces of media I watch or read, I'm pretty sure most of it is action/supernatural with varying degress of sci-fi elements mixed in, else likely would be the occasional fantasy novel or musical. This clearly transfers into my taste in anime – action, supernatural and sci-fi seem to be where many of my favourites lie – but also the music genre is one I'm quite fond, which while distinct from western musicals, naturally still has music...~Out of the three subgenres of music anime I've seen decent amounts of, I think the order of "likelihood to be good" goes band > musical > idol.My tastes in manga however I think are quite different. I haven't actually read many, but I do note I have difficulty following action sequences in manga, and naturally the music genre works better in a medium with sound.
So with manga I do feel more inclined towards slice-of-life and romance.Though, all that said, regardless of medium, I'm open to try pretty much any genre.
It's just anything with fantastical settings/elements, action sequences, or a lot of good music/songs in it will be more likely to pique my interest and/or become a favourite of mine~Aspects unrelated to genres that I seem to like, include great characters with fun banter between them, well-blended comedy and drama, highly intense drama, somewhat farcical comedy... I feel like there's another thing too, but that should paint a picture. The theme of there being some better way communicating/expressing feelings other than just speaking, though surprisingly rare even in the music genre, is something I seem to like a lot.
Also a simple layer of symbolism can be nice...~In terms of characters, there are a wide variety I find myself liking. Chuunibyou is the archetype I will basically always like, it's very rare to find a chuunibyou I don't like, let alone adore...~Characters who've suffered a significant amount, and/or who have an inferiority complex tend to be some of my favourites, too.
I could probably make a flowchart to describe when I prefer the idiot or the straightman in a comedy duo or group.
But really, there is a variety of character types I like, and I often struggle to identify patterns...~In terms of character attractiveness... there seem to be three "styles" of guys I find attractive. Cute, pure, sweet, shy and short boys; generally cool, tough guys; and the few guys elegant enough to pull off long hair.
Princely girls are also cool~
Places~
I uh... dunno what to say here...~
Disliked story aspects
Probably because I like guys more, I really don't like any sort of fanservice-y shtuff in the anime I watch. And I always hate perverted characters, too.
Flirty characters also usually annoy me, unless they're really funny in some way, whether by failing at flirting or through other personality traits~ I usually distinguish these as "epic fail"-type flirts and "smooth" flirts.I... also think I can't really process anything massively layered or incredibly complex.
I mean if the message is subtle, but simple and clear, it's fine. Hell, some people might say I'm seeing those sorts of messages in shtuff which doesn't have them.
If there's one or two simple layers, then it's fine.
But there's a point it gets absurd.Very bubbly, extroverted and overly, endlessly optimistic characters also always annoy me. Shame that's such a common personality for music anime MCs...
Generally speaking, such insanely cheery characters need to be either not that extreme, have some sort of darker side, and/or be the idiot of a comedy duo, for me to like them.Beyond that, all I know I dislike is poor writing and wasted potential. But doesn't everyone?
Music stuff~
So... when I reworked the favourites tab I ended up cutting out stuff about my musical taste...~
Which, is kinda important, no~?Generally speaking, I like rock most, and techno the least.
Rap is also not something I'm a big fan off, but I think it depends a lot on the backing music... hard to figure out what exactly though.
Slower songs are a real hit-or-miss thing with me, same for pop-rock.Most of what I listen to is anime and Vocaloid songs, with little else mixed in.I don't really like instrumental music much, but there are a few exceptions, generally in regards to the OST of anime that had music done by one of two composers.
...But even then I do find myself gravitating most towards any vocal tracks in the OST wherever possible...~My all time favourite bands/musical groups include, in no particular order and among others, Roselia, Ave Mujica, Fantome Iris, amazarashi, Re:End, GYROAXIA and RONDO.For solo artists I like, ReoNa is my favourite for sure, others include nano, MindaRyn and many of the popular female singers who do a lot of anisongs...~There are some songs I like that are kinda random and may seem contrary to my tastes, but that's just how things like this go...~Below are a couple random songs I like a lot, that I'll change around whenever I feel like it and remember about it
